Bio:

Mr Stephen Bush is Medical Director Operations at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, one of the largest acute NHS Trusts in the UK. LTH is the regional Major Trauma Centre and the regional hub for many services including cardiac intervention, vascular surgery and stroke management.

Steve works clinically as a consultant in emergency medicine and, prior to the MD post, was Clinical Director for Emergency and Specialty Medicine for 10 years. He Chairs both the LTH and the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) Scan4Safety Boards.

Through the Scan4Safety Programme, LTH have implemented a comprehensive inventory management system utilising global standards with interoperability at its core. This system is underpinned by real time point of care scanning. In addition, GS1 standards are being used in the implementation of the first true live bed state in an acute NHS hospital.
